gtx 480 backplate

Currently installing this on my card. It says to use m3 washers when installing all screws, but it doesn't come with any
It only comes with nuts and screws

I'm really starting to lose my faith with EK. Surely the backplate won't conduct and kill my card?

A quick google reveals that I DO need them, and that EK should provide them, but don't

If you email them they will probably send you some out, there was a bunch of waterblocks shipping without 1.5mm TIM pads not so long ago I had to get one sent out and in fairness it only took 2-3 days to arrive.

They really need to check the inventory of their products more carefully in future though.

I've just sent them a pretty angry email.

I know about the 1.5mm problem, it was me who started the thread about it
I just got my new pads in the post and the block is installed on my card now, I'm just annoyed about that damn backplate

Damn no wonder you hate them.

I didn't bother with a backplate for mine and it's been fine.

Just checked the other thread. You got your 1.5mm pads direct from EK, rather than through ocuk right? Have you received them yet?

Yeah from EK it only took them 2-3 working days to arrive from Slovenia, had it fitted for a few weeks now works like a champion.

It might be worth finding out how OCUK fit theirs it could be that the washers are just a precautionary thing.

I didnt use washers.
They're both fine
