GTX 480 Power Consumption

Hi guys,

Looking at the gtx 480's, but I ain't sure if my Corsair Hx 850w PSU is up to the job when in SLI?

Any 480 owners like to share?

Given that's the total draw of an overclocked i7 965 system (with the two 480's), I think you should be fine

in answer to the OP Thread Title- I was just going to say "LOTS !"

my OC'd Q6600 + GTX480 (Overclocked) - power from wall (measured)

Idle - approx 190W
Load - approx 450W

and thats just one GTX480.... I'm running it off a HX850 - although the 480 is overclocked/over-volted

one HX850 prob ok in SLI - but I'd say only just - and watch out if you are overclocking the 480s ...

the HX850 is very high quality - but if you are expecting say 700W power draw - thats a big ask on the PSU - I'd look another notch up PSU wise
