yeah people have nuked cards by not getting all the metals fragments off it.

crap, I've only got a huge vacuum cleaner. The card's been sitting there for a few hours now, any other ways of cleaning it?

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to leave it until tomorrow. At the moment, I've got no way to clean the card, blowing on it doesn't help

Maybe something like a tooth brush would work ?

Ive done this twice, the first time I used a dermal and the flexible attachment with a hoover next to the screw. That worked well.

The other time I used a pillar drill and hoover to remover the swarf.

I really don't feel confident about brushing my card with a toothbrush. I've never watercooled before. I'll ride my luck and hope I can get it all off tomorrow

wow i never thought about that, but i wouldnt recommend a power drill to take out the screw on the graphic card

Is this a stuck fragments or are you worried about fine particles you cant see ?

well, it's sort of fine particles that I can see, that won't blow off. It's not as big as fragments though

You could probably just remove them with a damp tissue, then give the card a once over with a hair dryer. Can you take some pics ?

i have always used a dry paintbrush.... give that a try

I'm not prepared to try a paintbrush if I'm scared to use a toothbrush

However, I'm coming round to the idea of using a toothbrush

I use a blusher brush, they are nice and soft and can get in all the tight areas.

a paintbrush is a less abraisive and wont take any resistors off... i would think a toothbrush too hard in all honesty.

Paint brush with a hoover held close. The PCB will have some type of spin on glass coating, you would have to really go out of your way to damage it.

Just make sure your earthed somehow.

some of the screw still remains in the hole, I'm not worried about that. I'm worried about the little particles around it
