it's always the last bloody one innit?if you use little pressure and a small drill bit,you should be able to drill the head off the screw.but be very careful.think it's bite the bullet time.

The toilet paper I've got leaves a lot of lint, which is difficult to blow away. I might just have some of those blue paper towel things though, I might try them

Actually on second thoughts, I'm getting some compressed air from someone tomorrow. I've decided to leave it until then

I would use a damp cloth and wipe towards the edge of the PCB while staying away from the gold fingers. The paint brush might be the best option for around the resistors.
