I have 3 480s in TRI SLI, all under water with EK blocks. Two sit at 36/37 idle, while the other is at 40. Under load however GPU 1 and 2 hit mayb 55ish, where as I have seen GPU 3 hit 110 (and it didnt throttle as fps in the benchmark stayed the same) Since then I ahve poked and prodded at the loop a bit and not really done anything but it now seems to peak at 90c in the same benchmark (shogun 2 ultra everything).

I used the same paste and same style of application on all the blocks, coverage was good when checked before cleaning and re doing it.

It is the last gpu in the loop (serial) and it does sit above my suondcard which gets pretty damn warm, but this sat in between my 295's before and didnt affect them at all.

Any ideas? I cant really be assed to take it all apart again, but im guessing its likely to be air bubbles in the block or something?

If it's air bubbles then just tilt your case in different directions while coolant is being pumped around the loop.

This should shift any trapped air.

I feel i should point out what I just remembered as well, when they were on air in my system, the same card (I think) ran significantly hotter than the others, but I assumed it was simply because it could get enoughair or something.

3 cards, 2 we built on the same day, one was built more recently and had a newer bios. I flashed the bios to be all the same to see if it was that randomly, but it wasnt.

Do some of these cards (asus) just run hotter than other ones?
