Guys,
My shiny new GTX 480 arrived this morning! Brilliant!
Anywho, I am now getting BSOD's. Had a couple at start up and a couple randomly loading apps etc.
The funny thing is, I can bench fully without issue in 3dmark 11. Yet 5 seconds into arma 2 and the game hangs, or Bsod's forcing a restart.
I'm running an i7, 6gb ram on an Asus P6t. PSU is a 700watt OCZ mod stream.

I have got rid of the old nvidia drivers using driver sweep and installed the most up to date one's. Nothing in my system is overclocked at the minute.
Confused on this one, any idea's?

If you're using Windows Vista or 7 I'm placing my money on that.

Yeah using windows 7, although driver sweep was a last resort really. The issue with the blue screens was there before i initiated the sweep

Don't worry about Driver Sweeper as it's never done any damage to any of my systems, plus you said it happened before and after you used Driver Sweeper so that at least rules that out :).

Is your CPU clocked?. Also you could try a CMOS reset.

Thanks dude, first thing i did was drop the overclock off. Reset the cmos, so everything is running at stock.
Is this worth a fresh windows 7 install?

last resort

have you tired putting in your old card see if it boots to windows? theres no reason why it should fail boot if drivers are not right it will tell you in windows surely?

Hmmmm, Just put the old gtx 275 in and everything works a treat.
Why would the 480 whizz through futuremark a couple of times without hitch, but not a real game?

i have the ident system and a asus engtx275 after install of asus 480 early fri went without a hitch uninstalled driver ran new nvidia driver and restart but shut down hung for 5 minutes before reboot anyway arma 2 is fine as is new vegas, hot pursuit 2, i was amazed at the high levels of detail afforded by the 480 off the chart really.
