Hello guys going to SLI my Ti's looked at some benchies and they out perform the 580 so looking forward to it!

Also just bought the ASRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3, cause i got a P8P67 LE crappy board with no SLI lol the Asrock looks the nuts.

Also bought a new PSU Corsair TX750, should i bet set for a year or so until Nepler gets released?

Just worried about the 1gb vram, should be ok though as I don't game higher than 1080p.

2500k is the cpu also.

It sounds like you've already made your decision if you've bought a new motherboard.

If you were considering a more powerful single card, with more VRAM, then you could could have carried on using the Asus.

FYI Nvidia's next generation is Kepler.

Sorry yea Kepler.

I was considering it, but the asus i had had no sli support and I don't like AMD.

So it that a good decision two 560ti's ? I see it beats the 580, so it must tie me over for a year or so ?

I only went with the SLI route as i can get the mobo/gpu cheaper than a single gtx 580

I'm sure that what you'd pay for another motherboard and second GTX 560Ti would buy a GTX 580 after adding in the money from selling your current card.

But, as you say, purely on average frame rate numbers the SLI'd GTX 560Ti's beat a GTX 580.

A GTX 580 might come good where more VRAM is needed or where there are any issues with SLI.

But the SLI'd GTX 560Ti's likely perform better more often than not so I'm sure your choice will keep you going for a while.

To be honest, if I were like you already fixed on upgrading to Kepler when they are launched, I'd just grab a decent GTX570 for £235-£250 and overclock it to tie me over, instead of grabbing two GTX560Ti for SLI.

While most mainstream big titles would pretty much scale quite well with SLI, there are still many non-mainstream titles that don't make use of SLI to its full capability.

But those usually wouldnt need the extra performance anyway :)

I do agree with waiting for the Kepler part, but the OP wanted something better now regardless.

The OP's only real error was picking a low end motherboard in the first place, the Asrock Extreme 3 Gen 4 is what he should have picked from the start, and its better for him to have that board over his Asus LE anyway.

What I meant was that GTX560TI SLI seem too big an investment as a stop gap...he should either just go single GTX560Ti or GTX570 instead of going SLI GTX 560TI, unless money is like no object to him and he will be upgrading to SLI Kepler anyway regardless of the price and not too huge an improvement.

Yes thats what I tried to tell him, but money seems to be no object :).

(IMO OP should by me a pair of Keplers and a Rampage IV Extreme when they come out :p)

You cheeky sod lol

Well I saw the motherboard I thought I've got to have it, iv got an obsession when it comes to PCs and components, I will see what the performance is like on the two if not I can always sell them and buy a single card or trade etc can't I?

The motherboard is a keeper though, pci express 3.0 as well so future proof for the new cards, looks lovely :D
