I currently have a GTX550Ti graphics adaptor on a 7i 2600 system with a 450W power supply.

1. Could I change to a GTX560Ti without changing the power supply?
2. If I didn't change the power supply what are the likely consequences when the GTX560Ti is under load?

Crashes, artifacting, random restarts.

Depends on any overclocking you have, how many drives/fans etcetera. If you only have one or two HDDs and a couple of optical drives with maybe 2-3 fans in the system you should be okay (as long as that's an i7 2600 and not an overclocked k edition). For example, bit-tech have rated a system with i7 [email protected] (notoriously power hungry!) and a factory overclocked 560Ti at 292W -

What is of more interest to me and I reckon most other people on here is whether that 450W power supply can actually supply a clean, ripple free 450W, is it a quality 450W from a company like Seasonic, or a cheapo no name one that will probably only be good for 300W max and would actually be stretching the limits there?

The 450W PSU I have fitted is a XFX PRO450W, with so-called 'EasyRail' Technology, a single 450W Rail. The 7i Sandybridge CPU is not overclocked. There is 1 SATA HHD and a Blu-Ray/DVD RW fitted.

You have 34 amp on the 12v so it should be ok. Though 500w is recommended.

560ti needs 500w & 24v

Which GTX560Ti should I get? There seem to be loads of variation. Best I don't get one that's overclocked.
