GTX 570 possibly dead?

Hi,

I finally got the voltage unlocked on my GTX 570, and eased it up slowly to what I thought was a stable overclock.

However then when playing BFBC2 I got artifacts and then a BSOD with a VERY high pitched click/whine from the graphics card.

Now even on stock values the card crashes in BFBC2, yet it is stable in heaven for several loops.

Could this now possibly be a half dead card? any advice appreciated.

Cheers,
Arran

Also, I've reinstalled drivers, reinstalled battlefield.
Afterburner is set to NOT put custom clocks on when windows starts, and according to GPU-z is all running at stock.

Was all fine until this happened.

Sorry updating myself here really...
Looking at windows errors I am getting:

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Bus/Interconnect Error
Processor ID: 3

The details view of this entry contains further information.

It's a Q6600 g0 as well by the way, clocked at 3.56 and has been stable for weeks...

So I am presuming that my CPU clock has now gone totally unstable??

lmao... did you really do it when you were drunk?? i am tempted to try this sometime. might break the world record XD

I did indeed, I was drunk and though that 1.4v was too much, and it was because I was getting 77/78 temps, so i clocked down to 1.34 thinking that was what I had it stable on. VERY WRONG!

Now on 3.5ghz, 1.36v and have my gfx card nicely on 850/1700/2000 at 1.068v :) All is well!
