Hello

I'm trying to play World of Warcraft on ultra which I've heard should not be an issue with this card but I seem to get framerate drops down 30-45 quite regularly and this is in quiet areas. Also I have turned shadows down to low. Other vital statistics are as follows.

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.110622-1506)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model: Z68AP-D3
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.6GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 4014MB RAM
Page File: 2373MB used, 5651MB available
Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
User DPI Setting: Using System DPI
System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled
DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 32bit Unicode

Any thoughts please, should the card be performing better than this?

Edit: Also I am running wow from my SSD.

regards

Ok I just downloaded CPU-z and prime 95, I'm getting 3410 mhz when running prime. So basically the cpu isn't oc'ed right?

Not one bit.
You can easily get 4.6 out of these chips. Either you lost the overclock (on prebuilt systems), or you bought a chip thats known to be good for 4.4.

I got this system prebuilt and it was supposed to come oc'ed at 4.4. Can I do it myself or should I just return the damn thing to oc'ers?

Seperate issue but I don't seem to be able to start up in raid to enable smart response either. This is starting to get on my nerves.

Look in the BIOS and see if there's an overclocked profile you can load.

I think you do this with Gigabyte boards:

Go into the BIOS by pressing the "Del" key during the POST process (before Windows starts to load).

While on the main BIOS screen press F12 and you should be given a list of any stored profiles.

Load the one which OcUK put there and then press F10 to save and exit.

I've looked in bios but to be honest I don't really know what I'm even looking for in there. I tried loading optimised defaults but that didn't do anything. Kind of scratching round in the dark here:/ Any idea where I might find that profile in bios?

Trying that now, thanks.

Success!

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~4.3GHz

I won't quibble about the 0.1 GHz:P

Will this improve the graphics card now?

That's better. Games generally will run much better now, performance will be more responsive, especially in cpu bound games like WoW. :)

Still I dont see why a stock i5 2500k and a 570 should struggle on wow unless something is seriously wrong
Well, depends on what you consider as "wrong"...the issue with WOW is that it has an old game engine that pretty much only use ONE core/runs in single thread, so any half decent graphic card can easily get bottleneck by the CPU, and which is why overclocking the CPU will almost ALWAYS give more frame rate.
