Quick question, as I read a thread comparing 1gb and 2gb 560 cards, 2gb smashed the 1gb in a lot of sectors. Im buying a 580 1.5gb and selling my 6950.

Although Im losing 0.5GB of Vram, will I see the difference? I play at 1080p.

Battlefield 3 was the most demanding game and it uses up 1200-1400mb on 1080p ultra with aero disabled. You should be fine. Loads of people enjoy BF3 with 580s. It is of course the fastest single GPU on the market and any reservations about it are unneeded :)

I am a bit skeptical from my own research regarding those benchmarks, but I can say that a 580 will have no issues with VRAM. While BF3 loves vram it hasn't caused my 580 (and many others for that matter) any restrictions in game play and I'm running 1080p also. If you don't have enough vram, it gets paged anyway afaik.

But in answer to your question, no you won't.

Im jumping to a 120hz monitor with 3d (hence why I want to go nvidia) and BF3 was set to mostly ultra on my card with 50+ fps without issues, will my psu support 580 SLI for when I add in a year or so?
