Hey guys,

So recently while playing CoD 4 I've got a pretty big fps drop from 200 to 60 but didn't pay attention since I get fps drops pretty often on that game, but then when I decided to run Heaven bench and then MSI kombustor I noticed that the fps has dropped 3-4x even though the GPU clock is the same and the GPU usage is 99%. Anyone here has encountered a problem like this? Or maybe someone knows whats the cause of it and how to resolve it?

Have you enabled "Force Vertical vsync" in the nvidia control panel or in the COD game video options ?

No I didn't its always off, I would understand if it would be only on COD since i get ridiculous fps changes, but the fps has dropped in everything by at least 3-4x while GPU usage is still at max.

The temps are 45C idle and 70-75C during gaming, and now I'm noticing weird usage % since usually when I'm just browsing its between 0-5 and doesn't really jump around that much but now its constantly jumping between 15-50% all the time.

ok today the performance is back to normal and the usage as well, though I'm still confused why the performance drop happened, if anyone knows anything about it would be nice to hear it.

Its under "power management mode" in the "manage 3D settings" bit of the nvidia control panel. The default is adaptive, which doesn't run the card at 100% in games where that simply isn't needed.

Thnx m8, after changing to the "prefer maximum performance" the card performs the way it should be now and the buzzing noise is gone :)
