Just a quick question, I have an NZXT Phantom case and a 650W PSU, does my case have enough room and does my PSU have enough wattage for the 580 MP?

Make sure you get one ordered they are a royal pain to find instock these days. I was wanting one but couldn't find one in stock, so ended up with a ASUS DIRECT CUii version of the card, which is a great card too and very cool it idles at 30c and max seen it hit on BF3 ULTRA settings was 51c.

Wow, not bad. I will try to get one asap then. Before I go ahead and jump straight to the card, are there any common known problems with the MP?

BF3 MP you mean I guess, I have not really seen any real problems mate, some people complain about certain things, but honestly the game plays fine aslong as your internet and the server you are on is working right. Also there will be some updates soon I guess to fix and patch any problems that are there, it still is a new game so expect it to get a few updates and fixes. My experience of the game has been very good on 1 x ASUS GTX 580 DIRECT CUii with 1.5GB on a 26 inch 1920 x 1200 screen. Great game that shows off the hardware well. Just the Single player could have been better I think but BF was never really great for SP, that is the area for Modern Warfare I guess.. Looking forward to MW3 too and hoping the SP will be good, the MP on MW3 i'm guessing will not touch BF3.

By MP I mean the Matrix Platinum :P but that was some good info thanks!

Naa the Matrix Platinum's are solid cards. Enjoy your card mate when you get it :) (P.S the Battlefield 3 guys and girls on here are brain washing me :D, everytime I see MP it makes me think of BF3 multiplayer )

No it's not in stock anywhere I've looked up and down :( what a bummer... I've looked at benchmarks for the Direct CU ii model though, still not bad, might just go for that :)

Yes they are really hard to get hold of mate, that's why I ended up with the Direct Cuii model of the card, to be honest the card is great and no complaints and I managed to get the card when it was on offer here for £383.99 so keep an eye out for the weekly offers. The Matrix when I have ever seen it in stock was a whopping £499.99 and I'm not sure I would have paid that for it to be honest, it's kinda expensive for what it really is but again you pay for great quality.

Yea, I can afford that, but yea, don't know if I want to wait around for it to come in stock though. Would it be possible for you to tell me your average frames on Crysis 2 please? that's if you have it.

Some reviews here of both cards

These will give you an idea of what both cards can do, also never done a benchmark on Crysis 2 but have all the high resolution texture pack installed and full patches and it runs great on max settings, not sure what frame rates but it runs really fast and a lot faster then the 5870 I had before. May get round to doing some benchmarks on it, but normaly I don't do that unless I see some problems. The ASUS GTX 580 Matrix Platinum 1.5 GB review here shows the Crysis 2 test and the Direct CUii is almost the same speed as you will see from the other review if you compare the other game tests they do there.

Ah okay, if there's not much difference then I suppose it doesn't really matter :) Thanks a lot for your help :D

Naa hardly any difference and the differences can even be counted as error %'s of the tests. This is why I didn't fuss when I couldn't find the Matrix version also they both seem to clock the same and funny thing the CUii memory clocks higher for some reason then the Matrix as that review shows. I don't even bother overclocking the graphics cards to be honest, I just wanted a fast quiet card that was well built and didn't show any problems when installed and running, that is why I picked the CUii over other GTX 580's that were more noisy, not as well built or showed TDR problems. I think it was a bargain even with Kepler cards around the corner (GTX 6xx series) and don't really see the GTX 580s with special coolers coming down that much, they will sell out before they even have to drop their prices.
