Just obtained a GTX580 for free and want to know if my hx520 will be enough to power it?
My specs are in my sig.

So even though Nvidia recommend 600w my HX520 should be ok provided I don't OC my cpu or gpu?
If I was going to upgrade my psu which one would you recommend? I have a budget of around £70 Modular would be prefered.

I would definitely OC your CPU to drive the 580

cheapish one (not modular);

this is the cheapest modular one I can find over 600w and just happens to be on special ad 750w so would out last your current system too;

I run a i5 750 @ 4GHz and GTX 580 off a HX 520 and it's been fine thus far. Take from that what you will.

You may get away with doing that but if you push a PSU too much you run the risk of damaging and causing problems for your other components.

The PSU is one of the less expensive parts of a PC for peace of mind I would upgrade.
