GTX 650 for gaming?

Em...I don't think you know about the performance of a GTX650...it only roughly on par with the 7750, which is only slightly faster than the 8800GTS 512MB that Op already got...

It's 2014 though, wouldn't buy a card with less than 2GB tbh.

Yes it would be faster, but in real-world term on performance it would be a bit like upgrading from a 4830 toa 4870...

I would say either a 2nd hand 6850 or a GTX460 1GB or new 7770/GTX650Ti as a bare minimum upgrade.

Agreed, not worth doing. Upgrade when you can afford a better card tbh, will serve you in the long run...

650 no but you need the 650 TI Boost which is closer to a 660.
Ignore the vram soothsayers if you never intend to go above 1920 x 1080 resolution monitor then 2gb is fine.

If you can just scrape the money go to the next level and either of these
