How is the price on the non-Ti GTX 660's at the moment?

Seems like a nice little upgrade from a GTX 460 for 2GB of RAM at 1920x1080 http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/660?vs=542

There's not much between the 660 and 660Ti in benchmarks by the looks of it, to justify the £50 premium http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/660?vs=647

670 is better http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/660?vs=598 but nearly double the price, so I reckon 660 could be the perfect price : performance model for single monitor gaming at 1920x1080..?

Tbh I still don't really "need" to upgrade my 460 for any specific games yet, not having any problems, but defo keeping an eye on the prices of the 600 series cards... Have nVidia finally begun to close the price gap on ATI cards..?

How well do the 660's overclock on stock volts..?

Do you need a nVidia card?

yeah kinda :p
have 0 experience with ATI cards.
but I am aware that they have been offering slightly more performance at a slightly lower cost compared to nVidia.
I am very familiar with nVidia control panel etc. so I don't mind paying a little bit extra to get an nVidia card...!

from what I can see, the stock 660 is on par with a £150-180 7850, and gets whooped by a £200 7870.

nope I take it back, reading different results all over the place xD some places say 660 is faster than 7870, others don't. i think it depends quite a lot on the game + system setup. doesn't seem to be an awful lot seperating the 660 and a 7870.

not much room for overclocking on a 660 though.

Not whooped but yeah beaten.

660 is comparable with a 7850
660Ti with a 7870
670 with a 7950
680 with a 7970

I think all the matches there are roughly equal give or take.

Personally, talking in pure performance terms (so ignoring cost): I would rather have a 7850 and 7870 over a 660 or 660Ti.

I would rather have a 670 or 680 over a 7950 or 7970.

eh.... can't be bothered to go into explaining Anand and their use of ancient AMD drivers; yardy yardy yar.....

The GTX 660ti is good allround on the Nvidia side :)
