I'm fairly new to all this so bear with me.
I have a GTX 660, EVGA SC version, now since I bought it a few months ago I've never touched any of the settings, all I did was to set a custom fan profile with Afterburner.
Then yesterday I realised that EVGA have their own software for this so I uninstalled Afterburner and installed Precision X. I had a play and OC'd it a bit and I noticed that since installing Precision X that GPU clocks at idle automatically throttle down which knocks about 10c off idle temps, it never did this before and always ran at full speed so I was happy with this new found feature.
Today I started it up and it had reverted back to full speed constantly with no throttling down at idle, it had kept the OC profile I'd saved but not this. The only way I could get it to revert back to this mode was to toggle KBoost on and then off again (even though it wasn't actually on) and now it's down on idle again.
Any ideas why it doesn't save this setting or always starts at full speed?
