i recently bought an nvidia gtx 6t60Ti with 3072mb memory, mainly for gaming and 3D modelling/rendering. i tested it on a simulator (rigs of rods) and got around 250FPS on a blank map, which i was pretty pleased with.

However, as time goes on, it appears to be getting less and less. now when i open the same map, i only get 70FPS. any idea what's going on

Try going to the Nvidia control panel and under 3d performance change the properties from adaptive to "prefer maximum performance"

okay, i read the first para (sorry for forgetting about this thread), and this doesn't seem to happen with mine. the clock speeds immediately jump up to the highest settings as soon as i run a game. the FPS will increase a bit, if i uncheck the box in the game, that determines whether the game uses the minimal amount of memory, but only by a few FPS (say from 50 to 55).
