so installed my 670 and thought i would run haven on non oc settings... it crashes haven.. went to play BF3.. it crashes!

thought i would reinstall and everything would be ok after a fresh install. installed all the drivers and got haven up. start running the benchmark and at 16-17 it crashes :( card is 3 days old. should i just dsr it?

You dont have the CPU OC-ed do you ? You may need to redo you OC on the CPU when you changed the GPU. Try running the system with no OC on CPU and GPU and set the memory to 1600MHz or 1333MHz as a test (if it is stable and no crashes means your overclocks or memory settings are causing the problems). Also the Asrock Fatal1ty Z68 Pro Gen3 has has a BIOS update recently maybe worth a try too.

BIOS update for the motherboard.

I say it's unstable CPU overclock rather than problem with the graphic card. 1.3v is pretty low for a 2600K at 4.8GHz.

Try lowering or remove the CPU overclock and see if you still crash may be?

its the driver failure so i know its not the cpu :) it dont BSOD. also the 670 is in my other system running an i7 920 at 3.8 i know the overclock is stable coz if has been running prime and bionic for ages without a failure!

Driver failure usually points at an unstable clock on the GPU.

Can you open up PX 3.0.2, select voltage slider and raise it to the max (1.175v) and apply, this should force the maximum voltage - perfectly safe btw ;)

If that doesn't help, leave it at 1.175v and start reducing the core clock speed, then memory if needed, if non of that helps then I think you may have an RMA on your hands.

i havent even tried to overclock it yet :( i tried the voltage thing that you said and im still getting crashes in haven and bf3. might just dsr it tbh.

tried in both. also just tried my old card in the i7 920 machine (a gtx 280) and thats working fine! cant really test a 570 in there as there on water.

Just test without the CPU overclock as I've experienced driver failures with an unstable CPU instead of a BSOD in Heaven.
