I take it nothing is shown on the NVCP about 2 monitors being connected?

Things to try are reinstall drivers. Make sure mobo BIOS is upto date.

yea nothing is showing up.

Will reinstall the drivers tonight and post an update on this.

Update: reinstalled drivers and still nothing.

I am not sure tbh what else it could be. I have all 3 of mine connected on 2 cards and had no issues. I think it could be something to do with DVI being connected to the second link but send Surveyor a message, he is very good with monitors and connectors.

Yeah, have you tried swaping the DVI connectors, as has been mentioned on another thread the both DVIs on GTX 670 are dual link.

One Dual Link DVI-I, One Dual Link DVI-D, One HDMI, One DisplayPort.

i tried changing the cables around nothing.

the connection you see on the bottom right thats the one am using now. My samsung monitor works in that connection. but when i connect it to the other on (top right) it doesn't.

also i connected my Asus to bottom right and tried using HDMI on Samsung and still nothing. could it be something to do with settings somewhere? if the port was faulty HDMI should have worked right..?

thanks for the help so far

anyone please? also can someone please link me to Surveyor's profile.

should i raise RMA for this?

the bottom right is the port that will allow for a dvi-vga convertor

if you're using that or just straight dvi cables then plug the asus into the top right and the sammy into the bottom right. Should work.. Might have to select the input on the monitor?

ok so i tried Asus Monitor into top right and Samsung into bottom right. Samsung becomes the main monitor and i get nothing on Asus Monitor.

If i connect the Asus into bottom right and connect the samsung into HDMI cable. I get no signal over HDMI.
and yes am switching the connection on my monitors depending on what signal am using.

Update:

so i tried changing connections again..

this is what happens

If i am using a single monitor i can use it in either DVI-I or DVI-D but when i connect both monitors which ever monitor is connected to DVI-I [connect next to HDMI port] becomes the main monitor and i get nothing on the second monitor.

I apologise if you've done these steps already, it's not clear from above.
First try one monitor, on its own, in all of the connections that you have adaptors for. Report if it fails on any of them, and if it's correctly identified in nvidia Control panel.
Then try the other monitor, on its own, in each of the connections. Report if it fails on any of them, etc.

ok lets try this again... @mememe just done what you said and here are the results...

gtx670.png

Asus Monitor

  1. Connected the monitor using HDMI - Nothing
Connected the Monitor using DVI-D cable into the top right port (in the pic) - Nothing
Connected the Monitor using DVI-D cable into bottom right port - Works

Samsung Monitor:
  1. Connected the Monitor using HDMI - Nothing
  2. Connected the Monitor using DVI-D cable into the top right port (in the pic) - Nothing
  3. Connected the Monitor using DVI-D cable into bottom right port(in the pic) - Works

Asus Monitor
  1. Connected the Monitor using DVI-D cable into top right port - Nothing
  2. Disconnected the Cable and reconnected it in the same port - Rebooted PC few Times - Works

getting second Monitor to work:
Reboot PC again
wait for the BIOS screen to pass
now connected the Samsung Monitor into second DVI Port - bottom right
Both Monitors Work
Samsung is detected as Main Monitor

this is making me go crazy

thanks for the help tho...

i found out about connecting the second monitor after bios screen from different forums.. i suppose am not allowed to post a link cause it might help understand my situation better?

what i am not understanding is how one port doesnt work and after some reboots and reconnecting the cable it suddenly starts working again..

It looks to me like you have a faulty card, where only one port works properly.

That BIOS trick is strange, though you shouldn't have to go through that to get the second monitor to work.

You can link to other forums, as long as they aren't linked to another computer tech company.

got the bios trick form EVGA official forums..
i guess it should be ok since they have Overclockers on their "where to buy" page.

my mate has the same graphic card and he is running Monitor+TV without any problems.

thank you for helping out

thanks for helping out guys.. RMA the card last week and received email today saying it was faulty ;p

asked em for refund and now i need help deciding between GTX 670 or GTX 680.. i dont mind spending a bit extra if its worth it...

should i stay with MSI 670? or upgrade to 680? and which one?

MSI/Gigabyte/EVGA/KFA2 are all good names. I would look at those cards but make sure they have the connections you require and stick with a 670. so close to the 680's performance <10%, it isn't worth the extra IMO.

Order MSI GTX 670 Power Edition again ;) hopefully i dont get the same issue again...

also order some fans and a filter for the case..

thanks for the help and will post again once i get the card..

thanks again
