Gtx 670 Winfast upgrade.

Thinking of upgrading the Gtx 670 2 gig Winforce to an ATI card. Maybe the R9 380 would be a bit better?

Would an I3 4130 at stock bottlekneck the Radeon?

Is there much difference between the R9 380 and the 670?

No your CPU will be fine but the 380 wouldn't be a huge upgrade. Its a bit faster than the gtx680 which is one step up from your 670. I would get a 380x. It is very close to 290 performance and you would really notice the difference. Again cpu is fine.

Yeah £200 is slightly over budget, I've got £160 so the standard 380 would have been fine. Thanks again.

The r9 380 wouldn't be worth the upgrade. You'd be better off waiting until the summer when the new AMD Polaris GPU's come out and looking for clearance deals on the R9 390, or 390x, or just purchasing one of the new GPU's

I have to agree, the 670>380 wouldn't be much of a step up to be worth considering. Personally I'd wait 3-4 months and then review your options

In the newer games the GTX670 is quite behind a R9 380 or R9 380X.

However,I would probably wait for Polaris or Pascal.

No the 380 is actually about 20% faster.

Shame as you'd get a 780, maybe even a 780ti for that. I went from a 670 to a 780 and noticed a significant performance boost.

Yep. Might hold out a while longer. I don't actually NEED a new GPU, it's just that I have money to spend. The I3 4130 does everything I need it to and it plays MWO perfectly well.

Just wasting money tbh.

Then of course I can overclock for some extra frames if it becomes laggy.
