I currently have a GTX 670 2gb which came with a system I purchased from overclockers last year.

I am thinking of upgrading my card (mainly due to not being able to play Watch Dogs on ultra - leading me to believe my card will become dated soon) but dont want to go sli. My questions are:

1) is there a decent card out there under £350 (or maybe slightly over if you know what i mean) which is going to be worth upgrading to?

2) is it worth waiting a little longer for some new technology to come out which will drive the price of the current £500+ cards down

Thanks in advance for any help

Depends.

I was in the same boat. Spend £140 for another 670 or spend £350 on a 780.

Depends on your budget. If you CAN spend the money then it might be wiser to go 780. Depdns if you just want a bump untill the 800 series comes out etc..

I just picked up a 780gtx sc mainly for watchdogs and coming from a 670gtx @ stock it was a considerable improvement, I can now have watchdogs @ 1920x1200 on ultra with fxaa (which is enough for me) and sao+ and it's super smooth using mouse controls.

Just noticed OcUK have the EVGA GeForce GTX 780 SC ACX Superclock 3072MB on offer this week for just £30 over your budget and you can sell the WatchDogs Code as well if you already have the game.

Funny enough I was actually looking at that one....think i might take the plunge now to get maximum gain!

I have another pc with a Zotac gtx 580 AMP 1.5gb in it. I will probably replace that with the 670 and try and sell the 580.....u reckon i can get £100 for that? I still have the box and the card is mint as i regularly clean my pc's inside.

Honestly don't worry about not playog watchdogs on ultra, my 780 sli can't do it, its vram hungry horse ****.

Probably the most poorly coded game of the decade so far.

Well i played it for a few hours on my current rig and it runs pretty damn well...jist not on ultra but everything is on high and that new antialiasing technology on +1. The game is friggin awesome IMO

You need to have a decent processor as well....what you running...presume i7 but what speed and which architecture?

670 is still a fine card, watchdogs is a POS coded game and poorly optimised for PC(and even consoles for that matter)

Ok, but what I am saying is that if you put settings on high, the experience is completely glitch-free and still better than a console.

I use and xbox 360 pad with my pc as i would feel way too geeky playing with m&k
