i am very confusing about the various options of choosing the right hardware for gaming. i am a gamer and i care to play games in highest settings with best performance . i read a lot of threads about the difference between an IPS 1440p and 120HZ 1080p monitors. what i understand the 120hz is the best option for gaming . i switch from an 60hz to 120hz monitor with a gtx260 sli setup and i have notice a big difference my pc looks way better than before i was though that i bought a new graphic cards. but now is time to upgrade. i will thinking to go for a single gtx 680. will a single gtx 680 2GB version handle a 3D or 2D 120hz monitor at 1920x1080p resolution to ultra settings for any game? or i need to go for gtx 680 4GB version? which is the difference? i prefer the nvidia geforce for personal reasons and not the ATI cards. also i prefer the Evga GTX 680 because it has an international warranty. im thinking to go with this version:http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-193-EA&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=2255
i want to play BF3 , skyrim, Crysis 2, Witcher 2, metro 2033,batman,COD e.t.c in highest settings as possible. i also hear a lot about 1440p 120hz resolution (maybe i upgrade in the future) but there i will need an sli setup? my budget is not allow to buy a sli setup right now but maybe in the future but until then the new GTX 780 will arrive so for now with a single GTX 680 2GB will do the job? right now i have this monitor Asus VG236H 23-inch 3D 120Hz and im very satisfied. Thanks

The 680 will cope nicely in those games and in 3D but you could save a few quid and get a 670 which is only around 10% slower than the 680 :)

Hope this helps.

i prefer the 680 10 % in some cases may be worth it. but what version? 2GB or the 4GB , will i notice any performance difference in games on FPS,for 3D or 2D 120hz+ between (2gb and 4gb )or the 4GB is matter only on multi-monitor setups.

memory only add space if the game excced it.
not add fps.
so answer is no.
1920x1080 a 2gb card is overkill.
unless one modd skyrim run extra super textures then maybe.

so 4gb basically is for multimonitor.

The GTX 680 will be good for Crysis 2, Metro is a monster to run for anything, the only real problem with the 680 is with some old games where it throttles down and stutters, but hopefully that will be fixed soon.

Just make sure you have a good motherboard and CPU to get the full benefit of the card ;)

thanks for all your answers. what about 1440p and 120HZ? is it possible ? i will buy the 3770K and the asus v formula so i think i will benefit a lot :)

Gtx670 with an xl2420t - match in heaven. Butter smooth gameplay
i have already the Asus VG236H witch also has the 3d vision kit so i am happy. if i will upgrade in the future i might go for 27 3d 120z or an IPS 1440p

The GTX 680 2GB will handle skyrim + mods, or the BF3 on ultra settings at 1080p? I read some forums that the VRAM will not be enough and may i need more VRAM? i just want to avoid crashes and problems with VRAM that why i want this card but is it better to go for 4GB version to be safe? i will O.C the 3770k for sure
