GTX 680 or 7970?

Wow, I didn't mean to start a heated discussion lol. thanks for the reply guys but I went for the 7970, only tried out BF3 so far and I'm very satisfied.
I went for the 7970 as I had a 7850 (which I now need to sell) and was happy with AMD.

The only childish ramblings I am reading here is coming from you Tommy. If you are not happy with any of the posts, there is the RTM system (red triangle by the name) for you to report any posts that you find offensive. I felt this was a fair discussion and nothing here is offensive. I thought you was mature enough to not need wrapping up in cotton wool and could have a sensible debate.

Three users in this one thread have said they found Nvidia to be better. You can post all the bench results up to justify your points but I feel the OP has enough info to go by.

It seems fairly pointless to keep clutching at straws Tommy and Matt and now let the OP choose from the info given.

Lol don't worry about it. Sometimes the truth can hurt it seems. ;)

You made the right choice. You picked the faster card for sure. Enjoy your card mate.

Think the arguing's getting stale.
We need a new generation for some new arguments.

Although, I did find most titles these days being gaming evolved rather hyperbolic.
It's certainly gaining momentum, but they'll be a ton of games that'll launch neither Nvidia or AMD "branded".

To put it into perspective, I get 51 fps average with same settings but my cpu is clocked to 4.5ghz right now. Give or take, id prob score 56 / 57 fps.

Thanks for the honest feedback. Not sure bumping your cpu up will add 11ps onto your average fps though. :D

So 51fps vs 62. But according to H the 680 is a fair bit faster. Smirk.

I get 60fps with my 7970 and 56fps with my 680. Min on 7970 is 48fps, min on 680 is 54fps.

That to me shows the 680 on a 60Hz screen as my setup would give a better experience as the min is higher and would explain why a 680 seems smoother to me.

I think the OP will be more than happy with his card, Tbh I would be more concerned about it being an XFX card than what chip it's using.

So your minimum is higher than his average? Lol.

 It's whats written in my notepad.

I expect there was a setting difference somewhere. :)

Don't troll mate. Doesn't suit you ;).

They were misleading because they were totally wrong. As for trolling if you look at the replies aimed at me and tommy in this thread i think you will find we're the ones being trolled, but that's fine im used to it here. In one ear and out the other. However i was correcting the misinformation posted with fact.

I don't see that you are and Tommy definitely isn't but if you're counting the fact being pointed out that [H] being posted liberally before and now they're not as trolling then... :(

I guess this thread has run its course now the OP has got his card and to be honest I think I would have made the same choice. :)
