Does anyone have a 7990? I know there's some GTX 690 users here.

Looking to get one of these cards GTX 690 or 7990. I saw the 7990 for £800.

Any recommendations? CPU is i7 - 3770k, motherboard is Asus P8Z77-Pro haven't overclocked running at stock.

I also want a good 27" monitor

Any advice guys?

Cheers :D

For raw performance a pair of HD 7970s are better than both the options you have mentioned.

For a single monitor up to 1600p a GTX 690 works very well, its also the best 2 GPU solution when it comes to microstutter. The 690 has a hardware fix for it.

Cheers, that's good to know about the microstutter.

As for a 690, any particular model I should go for, the specs looks identical.

They are all identical.

The only difference I have seen is with the EVGA one you have the option to adjust the logo brightness.

Go for the EVGA 690 great customer support and warranty, you can pay a small fee and have the warranty upgraded to 5 or 10 yrs.

One last question lol

Before I order

Is it worth going down the CF/SLI route with 2 cards instead of the GTX 690?

Are 2 x 7950 overclocked or GTX 670s overclocked a lot faster than a GTX 690? Or even 2 x 680s?

690 is just under 2 680 in sli main thing i whent for was one care 2 gpus less heat and loads of room left over :)

Go for the 690 its worth it :)

Not when you can get more performance at high res with 2x 7950s for nearly half the cost.

2x 7950s are the way to go for performance and cost, a 7990 and a 690 are hugely over-priced for the performance they give.

Hi

Ive got a Gigabyte GTX 690 and payed £756 inc delivery brand new for it which at the time was cheaper than 2 x GTX 680's. I love it, it is a very well built item and I can highly recommend it :)
