GTX 750 Ti Build?

I would tweak MichaelAwkward's build slightly. Once you consider if these are applicable to your situation.

If you plan/use Wi-Fi I would consider spending extra for a mini-itx motherboard with it built in. This bumps budget to get a H87, Z87, H97, Z97 motherboard and you still need to check it includes Wi-Fi, e.g. Asus H87I-Plus doesn't.

If you stick with suggested Asus H81i-plus motherboard be aware it doesn't support above 1600MHz RAM speed, so you could save some money if PC12800 (1600MHz), PC17100 (2133MHz), etc is cheaper than PC19200 (2400MHz).

I'm using Crucial Ballastix Tactical low profile RAM (BLT4G3D1608ET3LX0CEU) that can run at 1.35V, but Asus H81i-plus only offers 1.5V in BIOS. It was cheaper to buy two separate identical DIMMs using a voucher code twice than buy a dual-channel kit.

I personally would look at a single SSD instead of a mechanical drive, but it depends on your space requirements if you're the type of user that installs everything and never uninstalls completed games. I was going to suggest Intel 335 series 240GB, but the price has jumped from £79.99 to £99.98

Not sure on Nvidia GSync and 750Ti, but think only EVGA cards include display port (if that is a requirement) if you think that might be something you want to buy into later on.

Edit: The case power LED is blue. In case you are hoping to duplicate the green lighting theme.

I didnt even realise people had replied, thanks for the speedy responses :) Its my very first build, this is 100% new to me, ive changed a few parts on laptops but thats it. To be honest some of whats been said has been lost on me. The most promising idea at the moment seems to be the one suggested by michaelawkward. Newer for the same money sounds good to me. I'd been planning to use a dongle for the wifi.

This might give some more ideas.
I'm not suggesting you try and build one like it if you are new to tiny pc's, it's not novice friendly.

Wishing I went with that case now, but would probably have used an internal PSU as don't need a secondary hard drive.

Asus have released a Strix branded 750Ti also available with an overclock. the fans are meant to get turned off while card is below 50 degrees centigrade. Shame the price is pretty high compared to other 750ti models.

It's not like the stock 750 Ti even gets hot anyway, so a lot of this Strix branding on anything other than top-end kit is pretty redundant.

Side note: if the DirectCU cooler design is supposed to be so quiet and efficient, why are Asus even bothering with Strix?
