GTX 760 replace stock fan

HI

I have a Palit GTX 760 2GB with a stock fan that is noticeably noisy above the level of my case fans.

I want to replace the fan and the most popular option seems to be to get an Arctic Accelero 2/3 fan replacement or similar but this seems to be a bit tricky to install for someone with no previous experience

Can I take the easy way out and just replace the stock fan with another quieter version and bolt the base of the card back on?

Any advice is welcomed
Thanks

I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject and have been umming and ahhhing over doing such a thing myself with my 290's but I do know for sure that buried in these forums there are guides to attaching 3rd party coolers to various cards. If you do a quick search I'm sure you will find some useful information if not the answer you seek.

Not really and the best way is to add the accelero (which isn't that hard) and make sure you follow the instructions and take your time. It will improve temps and noise tremendously, so worth doing :)

Thanks for the replies

I want to know which Arctic and Zalman coolers can be fitted to the GTX 760

Can anyone help - do I need to post a different thread to find out?
