R9 290 is potentially the better buy purely for BF4, its swings and roundabouts for anything else. (An out the box OC model 780 with a good default boost will be quite a bit higher on that graph than the 780 is).

^^ 290 is great value for money but the only downside is the unimpressive stock cooler.

I'm slightly doubting my decision now. From this graph, the R9 290 seems to perform far better, and is cheaper. Any thoughts on this?

The variance in results could be down to the 290 throttling.

Well I have the ref evga 780 sc and haven't had one issue.

It's either evga or msi for me. As long as it isn't the damned msi 7950 then your all good
