I'd put some ram and VRM sinks on, especially if I was going to overclock.

It's better to buy a full cover water block that cools the ram and VRM's as well, which will allow you to overclock further. ;)

Not really worth £90 though
The ram is not cooled by the stock cooler, it is mainly the VRMs I'm worried about. I guess it's not hard to throw a couple of my ramsinks on them, just not sure if this will be adequate.

Are they likely to get hotter then the 670 ones?

Ok, got the MSI gaming Edition 780
The cooler is only held on by 4 screws, once the cooler is off there is a black metal plate that goes over all the ram chips and the VRMs. Only 1 part of the cooler actually touches this metal plate so the cooling for the ram & VRMs is very little.

I fit my standard VGA block, then placed some ramsinks on the metal plate, 2 above the VRMs and 2 above the ram.

After a 3 hour stint on BF4 my GPU temp was 47c, I opened my case and put my finger on the black metal plate & the ramsinks, they were only warm, they were not hot to touch. So yea, it seems the VRMs don't actually give off much heat at all which is nice :)
