GTX 780 Resolution Problems @ 1080

Hey all, I bought a GTX 780 graphics card off Overclockers a while back and had HDMI issues connecting to my 21" screen back then but ended up going with DVI instead... now I have decided to run a HDMI cable to my TV as well so I can watch films and such bur run into a similar issue.

Colour wise is no trouble, whereas before it was virtually black and white. But instead I have a resolution problem...

The TV is full HD so no issue there but when I select the native 1080p, 1920 x 1080 resolution it seams as though it's stretched height wise... It seams to look a hell of a lot better on 1080i, 1768 x 992 but this then drops to 30Hz and obviously doesn'y fill the screen and again the picture looks somewhat odd to me.

I read someone had similar problems and everyone said it's a driver issue and even suggested a fresh Windows install but thats virtually impossible as this is a fresh windows 10 install even when I had the same issues on the other screen.

Anyone got any ideas?

Force your GPU to use 60Hz its most likely staying on 30Hz due to the HDTV circuitry.

Not sure how that will help?

The TV is currently set at 1080i, 1768 x 992 @ 30Hz. But that's not filling the screen, there's about an inch gap around the outer edge.

Ironically after doing a restart since last night, the native 1080p, 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz is working and appears to be the correct resolution. However the colours don't look right at all...

Close up you can see odd almost "ghosting" around the edge of the text for example. Take the letter L on the current main screen is nice and clear and sharp, however on the TV theres like an outer white glow to it.

I'm on 372.70 with W7 and a 1080p monitor via HDMI, it just works for me provided I put full colour mode (full RGB) in the driver, and I can custom res with a higher refresh rate.

Have you tried another hdmi cable? Or changing the colour mode?

Overscan .... google it then you will understand each TV treats it differently most very poorly when connected to a PC ;)
