GTX 780 thoughts?

Considering a GTX 780, not the Ti, i'm not made of cash and i want a 840 Pro SSD also. mainly used for 3D work and the odd game.

is it worth it or is somthing coming along pretty soon?

The 790 is coming out in a while, but that apparent price point is around $1000 so I'd stick to a 780.

I haven't gone for the cheapest 780 since it uses the standard blower cooler and not the aftermarket.

The 780 is a beast of a card, imho the Ti, 790, Titan are going to be good but if you want to play games on a single 1080p monitor they are overkill.

I got the EVGA 780 ACX and it's brilliant, has coped with everything I have thrown at it, games, video rendering, PS.

You won't be disappointed.

I'll go for the Gigabyte one if i get it, i prefer the windforce cooler. anyone have one?

Have the windforce ghz edition. Awesome card. Silent and fast. No regrets about purchasing them

Cheapest 780 with a decent cooler like Phantom of Windforce, overclocked the vanialla 780 gets close to overclocked Tis and Titans.

Oh and very pleased with my 840 Pro also (Get the 256GB one minimum as it has more cache than the 128)

I have the OC version2 it is an awesome card, cool and quiet and runs all my games at the highest settings. Love It

Both the 780 and the 290s are great cards for 1080p

Coming from a GTx 295 anything will blow my mind TBH. very unlucky getting the 295. i got the EVGA Jet engine addition seemed right at the time :\
