Hello,

I am going to be buying a GTX 780 TI card for my new PC however I am stumped at which model to get.

I was originally going to go for a Windforce 3x oc however I have read that there has been many problems during gaming and just the over all card causing people's PCs to completely shut down/restart.

My PC will be mainly gaming and I am going for single card GPU for now (hence the GTX 780 TI)

I am going to be using a Maximus VI hero with a i7 4770k with a corsiar self contained water cooler(H100i). The actually tower will be cooled by 2 or 3 fans rather than water cooling. using a Corsair 750D ATX Full Tower Case.

So I was wondering which Version would be best for this build and why.

Thank you for your time.

no point going for sc cards really as you can attain those clocks on this card for free

Hi , ive got a windforce 3x oc and have had no problems with it .
Ive not overclocked it at all, and dont feel the need to .
Its mainly used for FSX, at which it excells and has never missed a beat, but i
see what you mean about people complaining about this card.
The gigabyte forums are full of people moaning about crashing/freezing.
The EVGA 780ti SC seems to get good reviews from users.

Have any further info on the problems? I've got a WF3 780 non-Ti and its been flawless and I know a few people with the ti who haven't had any problems at all - all in all seems like an excellent card.

Do know that 1-2 people have received cards with the cooling incorrectly seated but thats been a minority that I'm aware of and easily sorted via RMA usually.

EDIT: Ah see the mention of the gigabyte forums above - will have a look later.

Any 780Ti will be good. I hate a lot of the coolers that dump heat in the case. The Nvidia reference cooler is great for what it does. Dumps heat out the back on the card. You have a fan curve set with precision x you'll be set.

The ref coolers on the 780 / 780Ti are very very good. Especially if planning on SLI at some point, dump all that heat straight out the back of the PC.
