GTX 780WF fan issues

So I decided to get the GTX 780 WF from Gigabyte last month and its been beautiful up till the past week or so.
The 3rd fan (closest to the rear) is randomly spooling to 100% speed whether it be idle or gaming. I thought it may have been the new .93 beta drivers but have since rolled back to the older versions and it still happens, although not as much.

It can happen 2-3 times a day or once in 2 days.
(It took 7 minutes to go back to idle)

So far I have tried driver sweeper and fresh installing new and old drivers
Reseating the GPU
removed MSI AB and GPU-Z
There is no BIOS updates (F41) I can only find F61 and F71 for my card which Gigabyte says only use F41-49 etc

Anything else worth trying before starting an RMA for the card? I'm thinking a temp sensor issue with the 3rd fan?
Cheers

I had a similar problem with my Gigabyte GTX 480 - it turns out one of the fan headers wasn't seated properly. I'd say RMA it.

Hmm, I don't have the stickers covering the screws to the cooler. tempted to remove it and check the connections but if it messes with the warranty then RMA might be better.

It seems strange to only do that on one of the fans. If it was all 3, I would say reinstall drivers but being just the one, something is up with the card. RMA seems the likely outcome and there has been some issues with Gigabytes new WF cooler for a few.

RMA might just be the best option then rather than messing with the cards cooler. Just really annoying how its so random. Down side is Gigabyte's support tech is down till the 2nd for holidays
