Hey,

I'm buying a graphics card as a gift this christmas and have a budget of about £150. Only problem is that this has to fit into an alienware x51 r1 (urgh i know...) which has a 330w external PSU and apparently can accomodate a card of only 9.5" length.

I've been looking at the reference GTX 960's which, to be honest seem to be a bit underwhelming but the 970's are out of my budget range. Is it worth getting the 960 or is there an AMD option worth considering?

unfortunately a new build or waiting isnt an option, but i'm guessing a 960 would still be a decent performance boost over the 545 which is in her PC atm.

With that PSU, the 960 is the best choice. It runs almost every game at decent fps(~60) and high-ish details at 1080p, which is enough for most gamers.
