GTX 970 Folding@Home

Well I grabbed a GTX970 slammed a waterblock on it and replaced my AMD 290 with it.

For everything its better, but for folding@home the coil whine is, well you can hear it from the next room with the case on!

Haven't tried any Boinc tasks, but for benchmarks, mining and general use its quiet as a mouse, just folding causes the noise so far.

Which is a PITA!

Only ran a Core 15 so not great. About 65K ppd at stock

which 970? I went with EVGA SC ACX version. But mine will be on air.

Update, seems they fixed Core 17 on Maxwell. I switched back to client-type advanced on Friday and am getting around 233K PPD un-oveclocked on project 9201, and the coil whine has not come back.
