I bought an EVGA GTX 970 for a mate and I can't seem to get it to display anything with either of his TVs. His spec is similar to mine except he has a 2500K and 700W Coolermaster PSU vs my 3570K and 850W Superflower Leadex.
So far I've checked the following:
- The card works fine in my PC with my monitor which is only DVI but also works via HDMI through my fairly old Sony Bravia TV.
- His old 6950 works fine through both his old and new TVs when I put it back in so the PCI-E slot would seem to work fine too.
When I put the 970 in his machine, the fans spin up and then turn off like they should so I can't think that juice is an issue bearing in mind his unit is 700W and a half-decent brand plus surely his old card would draw a fair bit more power anyway? The only real difference is PCI-E 3.0 but the card should be backwards compatible anyway so I'm stumped. Anyone else had similar issues?
