Any advice on overclocking a card? i got a gigabyte 970 g1 and i'm using msi afterburner.

How should i change the settings? are there any pre-made configs?

Thanks

Wack your power limiter up , bump your core speed by 25mhz each time and then bench , if it's stable and no artefacts show then repeat either till it crashes or becomes unstable , then put setting bk to previous stable settings ... Increase core voltage by 25mv the. Rinse and repeat ... Don't jump straight for the voltage unless your maximising what your using already as it only leads to higher power consumption and hotter temps as well as the need for a more aggressive fan profile ... Take it slow and appreciate the learning experience

See how far you can get on stock volts first, then add voltage if you want to try push a little further.

What he said. Best advice I got was to use the card as you normally would (providing your a gamer) — just run something reasonably intensive and give it a good stint of gaming. If all runs smoothly, then keep pushing it. Rinse and repeat.

PUSH IT!

What i have running atm is 30mv, 225 core and 555 memory, 110% power and fan speed on 50%.

That's as far as i have gone so far.

Whack the voltage up to max and see how far you can go.

The 970s run so cool anyway the extra voltage does nothing.

Volts only effect the core so memory should be +500 as is typical on these cards.

Also use MSI afterburner on screen display to show the actual boost clocks or the GPUz sensor screen.
