I have a Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 I was wondering if anyone knows the max safe voltage for this card and how to unlock the voltage.

Looking at it the voltage is locked @ 1.225v

I have tried to enable overvolting but this does not effect the card, Wether it be bios locked or hardware I am unsure.

I can get to around 1500Mhz on the core and the memory to 8000Mhz, memory is rock solid but core is not 100% stable

Some 970's run upto 1.25v, but it's academic atm as the voltage is locked in the bios.

the only way to up the voltage is to flash a modded bios, which isn't possible yet due to sig/cert issues. Hopefully the whizzkids will crack it soon and we'll be able to unlock the true potential of these cards.

I agree the potential of they card will be massive once we can have a little more voltage.

Do you have a GTX 970 as I have a few questions regarding Perfcap reasons in GPUZ, On stock speeds

Yes, I've got two.

Let me guess - Vrel and/or Vop showing? Vop and Vrel are normal perfcap reasons when stock - it basically means boost clocks are being limited by operating voltage and reliability voltage - perfectly normal behaviour. The two you want to avoid are temp and pwr.

Great then I am getting normal behaviour from my card as I only get Vrel & Vop in GPU-z
