I currently only have one card and am looking to get a second one. I will most likely be buying another Twin Frozr edition. Only problem, MSI currently has their regular 4G Gaming, along with the 100 Million Edition. There seem to be little to no changes besides for the fact that it is green and has a backplate. There was a video on youtube from a Russian reviewer who showed that the 100ME performed barely better because it OC'd higher.

For the same price do you guys think dealing with the green color is worth a backplate and maybe a few extras in the box? (Might look cool with green + red, idk) Also if you have any tips for SLI let me know!

My personal tip would be save your pennies and don't bother unless you have a specific need for this? I'm a 970 owner and game at 1440p myself and I've contemplated this several times but just cant justify it. Yes I know adding a second card would give me a nice hefty boost in frame rates on today's games and I could see things like Unity / Arkham knight jump from the 40-50fps region on max upto the 80-100fps region on max.

Unfortunately the only games that aren't already hitting 60+ fps reliably are also the ones I see hitting the 3800MB - 4000MB of VRAM usage. Essentially, todays games are already maxing the VRAM usage and you won't get any extra VRAM by adding a second 970. Yes you will be able to hit 100+ FPS in the vast majority of things, but you still aren't going to be able to enable ultra textures in the next generation of games as you just won't have the VRAM to cope with it. (Even if you only game at 1080p this is likely to be true in another generation).

Personally I would save your money and wait for something like the 1070/1080 or whatever it ends up being called and use it to jump to something more powerful, but also something that has 6-8GB of VRAM.

I have a 970, great card for 1080p would I add another in future? Probably not as the RAM is a big issue here because I'd only add another if contemplating 4k gaming and this would entirely be dependent on DX12 ability to recognise a full 8GB in such a scenario (7GB if you discount the slower portion due to all the controversy.)

Sell it and put the proceeds towards a 980ti, better than 970SLI in the long term ;)

If you're running at 1080 (or even 1440 with maybe a few settings turned down) the SLI 970's will be great.
If you could stretch to a 980ti by selling your current 970 then that's the route I'd be taking.
Like I said though. I doubt you'll be disappointed by SLI 970's. Mine ran quiet and cool and never missed a beat. I only changed them as I went to 3440x1440.

Save the extra to get a 980 Ti far more future proof and sell your 970.

Now you will get great performance in all games not just the ones that support SLi.
