GTX 970 Windforce HDMI signal issues, please help!

Usually good at fixing tech issues, but this ones got me...

Installed my 970 into a pc I bought, got it running fine as its lit up and fans are spinning. Ive tried connecting it to a tv and a monitor neither work, but the same hdmi cable works with my sky box.

Tried different HDMI ports on the tv. Nope.

Tried different HDMI cables. Nope.

Also tried with a laptop and neither tv or monitor are picking that signal up...

New HDMI cable too.

Try plugging the HDMI from the motherboard to the monitor first and see if you get a signal. It could be possible the drivers for the GPU are not installed or aren't installed correctly. If this works, install the Nvidia drivers then try plugging the HDMI back into the GPU.

Try removing the GPU and try the VGA on the motherboard again to see if that is still working.

Hmm weird. The only thing I can think of to recommend from here is by clearing the CMOS for your motherboard.

Unfortunately it's quite likely to just be dead based on my experience. I had DVI and HDMI ports die on a GTX 570, GTX 660 and GTX 680. The HDMI on the 570 and 680 went before one DVI and then the other (although when something was plugged in the control panel would show which display it was). Got them both RMA'd/refunded.
