It would be entirely down to how often you actually play PhysX titles.
For example if you were playing Batman series Marathaon or lots of Borderlands, then it would probably worth it; in other times when you play non PhysX titles and won't be playing PhysX titles in a good while, it would worth taking the 650Ti Boost back out for the sake or reducing power consumption and temp inside the case.

Only to know for sure is to run benchmarks comparing the 2.
I would imagine that the 970 would be faster on it's own though.

i run fire and it was 0.5 % improvement by it self. so i`ll keep it for borderlands and upcoming batman
