980ti pascal replacement is expected late 2016 so upto you if you can wait another year.

Agreed, get a good clocked Ti and then you'll have the funds for Pascal if it's significantly better

I'd wait, if your current rig is good enough stick with, come pascal you might be able to get away with a single gpu

Yes, maybe, usually, depends on the game kind of thing.

Not in games like Witcher 3 and GTAV though...that's SLI territory with current gen cards.

I got 95-100fps with Battlefront on Ultra@1440p (RoG Swift).

If the upper reaches are important then get a pair of Ti's and you'll be set for a couple of years

if your not happy get another Ti. Mine run 144hz without a problem and have very good SLI scaling. I wont be upgrading to pascal until a couple of cards down the line like the pascal version of the 980Ti for instance. So for me my 980Ti's will be good for atleast another 1-2 years or so at the very least.

you reckon 2 overclocked 980tis will be ok for 2 years of ultra? at 1440p?

Depends if they get driver nerfed!

My 7970s lasted me 2 years untill i upgraded to 980 ti's even then they were still going strong but the drivers for new releases were getting on my nads.

980ti sli should last well into 2017

Edit :- just seen you asked if they will run ultra for 2 years, Probably not you will start dropping settings late next year at a guess.

Too late now, but I'd recommend sniping a 980ti on a good deal (keep an eye out on OCUK's daily/weekly deals) and then inevitably going big on Pascal. The good news is that you'll get plenty of use from the 980ti. The Pascal equivalent is a long ways off. It's not even close to releasing the 1070/1080 (or whatever they'll be called) yet.
