gtx is here :D

I found the plug and connectors to be a very tight fit on my GTX.

A little more effort and entry was made. ;)

the MAIN power connector on the motherboard doesnt want to plug into the one my psu provides. had the same problem last time, only the computer store i sent the whole rig off to is shut for a month.

basically it aint fitting and comes with an additional 4 pin power connector which i dunno where it goes...

You mean....the 24pin ATX power connector at the bottom?

Also, the 4pin goes in the power connector at the right edge of the board (on that picture)

oops with you now.

which tyope of atx does your psu cover and what is the mobo?

Are you confusing the additional atx connector?

thats now what ive done lol.

my bad i was trying to plug my mb power connector into my fdd port, easy mistake to make so ive gathered, as the power port is right to it. got it in now.

got one more query

the pci-e - molex adaptor has 2 molex - 1 pcie

do i need to plug two molex's into it or just the one ?

also the spare molex i have has something else plugged into the top of it, does this matter ?

cheers

The PCI-E adapter needs two seperate molex connectors.

Ideally, both molex connectors should have nothing else connected to them.

What PSU are you using?

I presume your PSU has one dedicated 6-pin pci-e connector, so you only need to use one adapter. You might be ok with the adapter using a shared molex.

I would give the card at least one dedicated molex, and run all the drives/fans/etc from whatever molex's are left.

wtf is a pci-e power cable??

sorry, I am a little shocked at this since I haven't heard of it before? I haven't got any 6 pin connector coming out of my psu???? I have a DS3 board and an Atrix Extreme 520W PSU

what does it mean when an 8800 gtx beeps at you on startup, once, for half a second ish, cos that is whats happening.......

is it because the adaptor that came with it only has 5 points like below:

:.: instead of :::

??

It means one/both of the PCIe plugs aren't connected properly, lack of 12v.

There are supposed to be 6 in a PCIe lead, the three pins in a row, are they yellow or black?

One row is yellow, one is brown, which has three? Molex adapters only have 2 yellow 12v, thats normal. A dedicated PCIe lead should have all six.
