Okay, asked a few days ago and got no real replies, but I think the thread title didn't help, then I got put off as the price went back up.

But, now that it's down again I am about to hit the buy now button. Before I do, I want to be sure my PSU is up to the task.

So, I have a Tagan TG480-U01. Will it run the GTX, or am I asking for trouble? Anyone running a GTX with a similar PSU?

If it's too much, then I have another question - stick with my current GTS, or dump it on the 'bay and get a new G92 version?

Decisions, decisions...:p

well in terms of wattage, 480 should be fine, you may want to double check the amps available on the 12volt rails before you try it, although i assume it will all be fine

Yeah, that's my only worry, the 12v rail supplies 28a and I just don't know if that will be enough. It might well be, but I would hate to change card only to find the PSU would need changed too, which would IMO make the upgrade a waste of money at this time.

I have that Tagan PSU running this lot totally fine:

E2140 @3ghz
GTX oc2
4gb ram
P35 mobo
4 x sata HD's
2 x dvd drives
sound card
tv card
wifi card

Thanks guys, raises my hopes a little. It has been a great PSU and I would hate to replace it just yet unless I absolutely have to.
