well i will hopefully have enough money for my new pc in a couple of weeks, and just wanted some thoughts on whice graphics card, i was thinking a bfg oc2 gtx or maybe a Asus ATI Radeon HD 3870 XT 512MB, im thinking of sticking to what i was gonna get orignally whice is the gtx...
btw it will likely be going in a ip35 pro with a q6600.

Thanks.

Well they are in 2 different classes really.

The GTX and ultra are still the fastest cards out.....

The 8800GT vs the 3870 is more of a reasonable question as they are in similar price ranges...

I can NOT recommend the Asus 3870 XT as it's £170 putting it in 8800 GT territory.

The prices on the cheaper 8800 GTX cards at the moment are absolutely brilliant, but I think I'd still recommend the 8800 GT 512MB on a price/performance bases.

The 8800 GT outperforms the 8800 GTS 640MB and is only 5-7% behind the GTX in most cases. A very good bang-for-buck card.

Gtx at 240 is worth it imo.

Certainly is, but then for £60 less you can get a card which performs 5% slower, is an extra 5% worth £60? to me NO, not unless you play at a high res, and also the £60 less card still plays any game out now on max settings apart from crysis and buggy DX10 wannabes.

crossfire 3870 would outperform a single GTX by quite a bit, my 2900s in crossfire get 16537 in 3dmark06 at stock with an E6850
