GTX overkill on 20" widescreen?

Would 22" make much difference? Bearing in mind im playing on a 17" non wide screen atm and thats all i have played on..

A 20inch and a 22inch screen has the exact same res. (16850x1050)

Yes it would make quite a big difference if you were to go from a 17inch screen to a 20-22inch screen.
 
A 20inch will just be the same rez as a 22inch, of course you get more screen to view with a 22 inch but the dot pitch is bigger all so, resulting in less sharp picture, i have a 20inch NEC and its picture is fantastic, i dont even hardly notice jaggies in games so AA is used less.
