Well I was just about to click the order button for my new system when I read how well Crossfire was doing at the moment.
I was going to order an 8800GTX to go with my new 24" Dell (1920x1200) as it's got that extra power over a GTS at high res. BUT I then thought that maybe a Crossfire system might run better, seeing as the P35 boards almost all run crossfire as standard. I've tried finding benchmarks etc for the 3850's and 3870's in xfire but not many of them go as far as the res I'll need and what do benchmarks matter when I'll be gaming not benching anyways?
I know that 2 3870's would probably cost more than a single GTX but if it's going to be better then I dont mind buying one card this month then another next month.
It'll all be combined with a Q6600 and 4GB RAM on either an OCUK IP35 or ASUS P5K-E board, depending what I can stretch to.
