GTX260 maxcore

4870 512mb is a nice upgrade from 88gt and cheaper, but 260 maxcore is better than 4870 512mb, but more expensive. or you can also choose a 4870 1gb = 260 maxcore.

Agreed... get the Maxcore.

I have the vanilla 260 and it's simply excellent.

This. Bought 2 in the last 2 weeks. Incredible cards for the money around 10% slower than a GTX280 yet a lot cheaper. You cannot go wrong with a BFG or EVGA as 10 years warranty but EVGA is better as they do a 3 month stepup program as well.

Just looking at the reviews: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-021-AK&tool=3

In the list it seems a user has an 8800GTX installed and as far as i'm aware that and the 260 are similar lengths.

Might be worth double checking elsewhere but it looks pretty hopeful.

You might have to move a hdd if there's presently one in the way.

Cheers, yeah I've definitely got a HD in the way at the moment as my 8800GT just fits in as it is. However I have a free slot down at the bottom of the case I can shift that too, hopefully giving just enough room. Will measure it up tonight.

Need 10.6 inches for a GTX 260. Fits in my Thermaltake Soprano with about 4mm from the HDD cage :D
