I have a Palit GTX260 216SP 1792MB card and frankly it's struggling in BF3 at 1920x1200, even on low settings.

The GTX570 looks like the sweet spot, but I'm unsure whether to plump for a 2.5GB card (I hear BF3 eats gfx RAM) or go for the standard 1280MB card. I would appreciate any input here.

Also I think my PSU might not be quite up to the task. I have the Enermax Liberty 620W, which has frankly been outstanding. It's now 5 years old and I've not had one bit of trouble with it. However, I think it has an upper limit of 36A on the 12V rail, and I've read that the GTX570 needs a little more. If a PSU upgrade is required, I'd welcome suggestions.

A little more info to help...
CPU: i5-750 @ 3.6GHz
RAM: 4GB DDR3
Mobo: Asus P7P55D Pro

A GTX570 would be a HUGE upgrade : )

I'd recommend to go for the 2.5GB model, I havent noticed any "lag spikes" with my GTX570's at 1080P with any game but better to be ready for future games.

My sig rig pulls about 620W from the wall running 3DMark11, so your PSU has enough wattage, just not sure about the amps, maybe someone else can advise on that.

Thanks for the response.

I'm sure the PSU can deliver enough total power, just unsure if it delivers enough current on the 12V rail. Would be nice if I could get away without changing it as it would save some dosh :)

Very similar but slightly newer I think...I'll have the side off my case and check the label in a bit

/edit, just checked and it's not that one, must have been the predecessor model. Two 12V rails, 22A on each or combined 36A.

Now just need someone who knows how much current a GTX570 needs

The problem I have is that I want to play the latest games, and back in the day I bought a nice big monitor to go with 7800GTX in SLI when they came out. I upgraded to the 260GTX a cOuple of years back but it just doesn't cut the mustard in the big titles now at 1920x1200.
