Guys,

A friend of mine has a GTX280 which clicks, there are some links to the problem on the web, however when it runs in my rig with either a seasonic or a bequiet PSU it doesnt click.....

He has a "kingwin" psu which I have never heard of... I think it is the PSU doing it but he thinks as it has had good reviews that it wont be that....

Can I ask you guys for thoughts

Both my 260's have squealing caps that produce varying degrees of noise depending on the psu they're running off.

They do it most on my 900w tagan, a little less on a hiper 580 i have and a little less still on a tagan 600w from work.

Not sure about clicking but i suppose at lower framerates (e.g: crysis, etc...) it might sound like a 'click' rather than a buzz.

Assuming it is this issue i wouldn't personally worry about it as it seems to be a by product of the power section on these cards.

I had a clicking noise after installing my 280 (one of the £218 Zotacs from a while back), but the click wasn't coming from the card - as such.

Although I use a normal soundcard/speaker setup, for some weird reason when I changed res, a clicking type noise was for some reason transmitted via the hdmi cable to my monitor speakers. Sounded like I'd gone back to an old Voodoo card whenever the res changed. Simple solution was of course to mute the monitor speakers.

Just something else for you to consider anyway.
